Overview: Step 4 of GPA’s proposed reopening plans is highly likely to be a hybrid model, depending on stakeholder input and negotiations with SDEA. This would provide opportunities for a reduced number of students to be on campus for in-person instruction from their teachers, and for students who continue to desire a distance learning option to learn from home. Our default school model would be 5 days per week of in-person instruction with precise schedules to be set based on the number of students who wish to attend in person, available space, and existing health and safety guidelines. This model is dependent on the needs of the community and may be adjusted to support students, families, and staff accordingly.
Please note that during all scheduled on-campus activities, GPA would strictly enforce appropriate safety measures including pre-screening, temperature checks, face coverings, hand washing, and cohort groupings in accordance with the CDC, SDCOE, and CDPH health and safety guidelines.
The timeline for a proposed Fall reopening would align with GPA’s 2021-2022 school calendar. Parents will be asked to decide which program option they would like for their child to commit to for the 2021-2022 school year at a later date. Specific details for Step 4, will be provided several weeks in advance.
