School Director dances his way to Class of 2016 Graduation
Director Vincent Riveroll of Gompers Preparatory Academy will stop at nothing to ensure that his 6th through 12th grade students experience JOY every day that they are in school.
Once a failing school plagued by violence, low attendance and low achievement, GPA is now a thriving college prep academy that is recognized for 100% senior graduation rates and 100% college enrollment. This could not have been done without the incredible, innovative talent and leadership of Director Riveroll.
This video, which was the kickoff to this year’s senior graduation ceremony, exemplifies Director Riveroll’s heart, humor and creative talent – all of which are at the heart of GPA’s JOY factor, and secret to the school’s success.

The Gompers Preparatory Academy journey begins when a new 6th grade student opens their letter of opportunity to attend GPA as a proud Eagle. As our students grow, the GPA prep experience leads each student through the rigors of academic excellence, college applications, and the earning of their Senior wings, which symbolizing college acceptance. From the moment a student enters GPA, they know that “graduation begins today.”
