Demo Resources Page

Congratulations! You have been chosen to showcase your talents in front of our students.

A lesson plan template is available for you to use when you type up your lesson for your thirty minute demo. Just a reminder, your demo should incorporate a kinesthetic activity- a song, a dance, a chant – some sort of movement activity that supports the learning. For reference, a learning plan with notes and an exemplary learning plan are available to will help you with some questions you might have about the different sections of the plan.

Also available:

  • A demo rubric which your evaluator will utilize during your thirty minute lesson.
  • A picture of a chart our Director created when he first became a teacher. This is an excellent resource as it shows the kind of teacher he wanted to become and what we look for in all prospective GPA teachers.
  • Click here for a video of our Director teaching the 3 branches of government to our Seniors. Please note the effective hand gestures, student involvement and his presence with the students.

His lesson is an excellent example of the kind of lesson we expect from our candidates for the following reasons:

  • Effective use of elementary school engagement strategies in a high school environment
  • Immediate student participation
  • 100 percent engagement
  • Effective use of choral response
  • Clear student-teacher connection
  • All students are held accountable.
  • Effective hook that effectively sparks the students
  • Student interest around a subject that typically has little buy in.

Our Code of Conduct is a great reference to understand the GPA beliefs, vision, mission and values.

Also available is our staff dress code. This is strictly followed by all of our staff members in order to exemplify professionalism to our students.

Please bring a hard copy of your GPA learning plan to your demo so an Executive Leader can review.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call!
