The Gompers Eagles softball team won their 1st game of the season and their 1st game in 4 seasons with a decisive victory over King-Chavez HS 23-7 on Tuesday. The eagles put it all together with great pitching, good defense, and timely hitting. Jazmin got the start on the mound with Maria coming in to close out the game. The scoring was started when Ismelda slid into home with 1 out in the 1st inning and from there the Eagles kept rolling with big hits from Ajena, Justina, and sophomore Julisa who went 3-4 with 2 RBIs. The Eagles take on HTHCV on Thursday @ 330 pm @ HTHCV.
